Edited by: Thread Winner on 12/04/2007 04:26:47 War Decs get me all frisky.
Also your in no position to complain considering your corp has a clichT Art of War quote in it.
Put in the carebear theme song and then maybe you can complain

She has a point because EVE will never grow if pvp is the ONLY focus.
there are so many things wrong with that statement I don't know where to begin

Please do begin because there is nothing wrong with it. PvP is a focus but not the only focus !
The weaknesses of a strict industrial and or mining corp is the lack of defense when it comes to PvP.
A decent CEO would realize that being focused like a laser has extreme strengths and weaknesses One of which is the inability to defend themselves should some one want to take a bite out of them
So in a sense your just as gimped in an NPC corp as you are a strict industrial and mining corp

Originally by: Arachidamia I can't help but wonder.. really, what is the point of high sec? It's supposed to be relatively safe surely? or else really, what use is it? I mean hell.. May as well make it all 0.0 so you can all prove how uber you are right? You see all these people saying how high sec is eve on easy mode for newbs.. and then you see the same people defending their ability to enter that same "newb space" and kill anyone outside of npc corps?
The entire war system is deeply flawed imho. Yet most of the experienced players are already too used to it and defend the system. When your solution to the war dec problem is such gems as "get an alt in a newb corp for hauling" it tells me something is wrong.
Highsec is the teacher you run to when some one in class messes with you.

High Sec is the place where new people start and old people come to lick their wounds and rebuild.
What is the point of joining a highsec corp?
If a corp can't defend itself, it does not need to exist.
Nobody expects everybody to be a PVP player.
You put the Industry players with the PVP players, and have them support each other.
The problem arises when you have "Industrial" corps who think they can just rake in profit and never have to spend anything for security.
The carebear mindset is one of immaturity and entitlement.
"Why should *I* have to hire a merc?"
"Why should *I* keep my mouth shut?"
"Why should *I* have to dillute my profits for security?"
Socialist entitlement mindset. All rights with no responsibilities.
A corp MUST think about security just as it MUST think about logistics, industry, finance, trade, and so forth.
If you are in a corp that cannot protect itself, then you should leave.
Ideally the CEO should be a PVP veteran. If 10 people out of 100 actually join war gang, this will turn off %99.9999 of attackers.
I find your ideas intriguing and would like to subscribe to your news letter.

Being a girl has nothing to do with whether or not you enjoy PvP. You do not enjoy PvP; do not project your preference onto other girls. Sweeping generalizations about gender do nothing to validate the point you were attempting to make.
Sex is a form of PvP
*watches the 5% of female players quit*
Finally now I can stop sucking it in

Now Cipher7 is one cool cat. That is the reason EVE is now my olny mmorpg, becuse nowere can you find gamers like Cipher7 but in EVE.
Ah, but never assume that your potential targets' only recourse should be to fight you on an uneven field. There should be means of allowing them to defend against you through a means applicable to their preferred mode of play.
Isn't it key in any industrialized civilization to pay some one to do your dirty work?
Thusly industrial corps have all the tools they need.

Granted, they do. ISK. But, why limit their options soley to other players? Why should they be forced to give you what you want? Who are you to declare yourself something special?
Because they'll get shot if they don't? Isn't that how war works?

Edited by: Thread Winner on 13/04/2007 13:28:23 I think the real problem is the inability to annihilate a corp through empire war.
If annihilation was possible Mega Corps would form and all hell would break loose.

All I'm seeing in this thread is the weakness of pure industrial corps and such being exploited and rightfully so.
